TIL-TEK Antennae Inc. a world leader in the design and manufacture of base station, Customer Premise (CPE) and directional antennas and antenna solutions, is seeking an experienced Engineer or Engineering Technologist for its Kemptville, ON, facility.
Job Description
Reporting to the General Manager as part of the Sales / Marketing Group, the incumbent will be working in a team focused environment supporting all sales and marketing activities. The incumbent must exhibit strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
Summary of Responsibilities and Activities:
- Assist TIL-TEK customers in the selection and choice of antennas as related to the customer’s specific applications in standard, non standard and complex applications.
- Assist customers in the definition of custom application specific antenna products and transfer information to the engineering department during all aspects of custom product development by providing a technical liason between the customer and engineering department.
- Assist the TIL-TEK engineering group in defining standard antenna products based on standard and complex radio system applications.
- Generate and maintain the application note data base for the TIL-TEK web site.
- Assist TIL-TEK customers in acquiring technical information data such as specific radiation patterns and technical information not normally available through the TIL-TEK web site for standard, manufacture discontinued and non-standard antenna products.
- Provide technical assistance to the engineering department in technical issues related to the antenna test range on an as required basis.
- Provide the TIL-TEK sales team with technical assistance on an as required basis. This may include travel to domestic and international locations with sales reps.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- B. Sc. in Electrical Engineering or Diploma of Engineering Technology or equivalent education / experience.
- Be willing to travel to domestic and international locations. (approximately 20% - 25% of time).
- Must be eligible for Canadian Passport and have a valid Canadian drivers license.
Experience / Competencies:
- Experience in a technical support role, assisting customers with RF and propagation related problems in a wireless radio network environment is required.
- Must be proficient in using standard Microsoft products such as MS-Word, EXCEL, MS-Projects, MS-PowerPoint.
- Familiar with all parameters, specifications and applications of antennas and RF components such as transmission lines, connectors, attenuators, power dividers, directional couplers, etc …
- Familiar with using RF test equipment such as Scalar / Vector Network analyzers, Spectrum Analyzer, Power meters and other related RF test equipment.
- Must be familiar or able to learn use of propagation prediction tools such as Pathloss.
- Experience in microwave radio network design, antenna selection, path planning, and frequency coordination is considered an asset.
- Familiar with 802.11a,b/g Wi-Fi systems, 802.11d/e Wi-MAX systems is also an asset.
