TIL-TEK Antennae Inc. a world leader in the design and manufacture of base station, CPE and customized antenna solutions is seeking a SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR for it's Kemptville, ON, facility.

SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION
1. Computer Security Planning and Implementation
Plan, implement and maintain procedures for protecting software and data on all computers, servers etc. This includes considering protection against equipment failure. Viruses, hackers, unintentional (and possibly intentional) on-site damage. It would likely include an effective hard disk backup program; anti-virus software for local disk, LAN, and internet (via email, executables, macros, java and Activ X) attacks.
2. LAN and Internet Email Management
Manage Til-Tek’s LAN and internet e-mail setup (make new accounts, monitor associated disk space, make sure personal versus departmental email is handled properly when people are on trips etc.).
3. Scouting Potential New Software or Hardware
Scanning the journals or internet for software that may help Til-Tek function better. This may involve a wide range of things such as LAN maintenance tools, new backup devices, web advertizing services, or CAD programs.
4. Software Solutions
Assist in deciding on, and implementing, software solutions to accomplish various tasks such as synchronizing bills of materials with antenna price lists and inventory lists; or improving LAN strategies for more efficient communication.
5. IT peripheral management
Installation and maintenacne of IT peripherals like Printer, scanner, VoIP etc.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND TRAINING
1. Computer Hardware Maintenance and Upgrading
Identify and replace defective parts when a user has a problem.
Select and install upgrade parts as the need arises.
Software installation and setup associated with above, e.g. when replacing a hard disk, the software must be set up the same as in the old hard disk with little or no burden on the user. The support will be on both i.e. hands-ON and remote support.
2. Computer Software Maintenance and Upgrading
As problems arise, identify defective or deficient software, find a work-around or updated software, install solution on all affected computers, record solution for future use on new computers.
Assist in selecting replacement software. This job is a team effort and must involve thorough testing by primary users of the software.
3. User Training
Set up a Help Area: FAQ or “Tips and Tricks” section for software as required.
Show users how to use software, how to look for help, and how to contribute to the Help Area.
Recommend courses or outside training as needed.
DOCUMENTS AND PROCEDURES
1. Call report and machine history
Maintaining call reports and history of machines and server up-todate.
2. IT Asset management
Maintaining IT assets and documentation up-todate.
3. Templates and Macros
Assist in developing templates and macros to facilitate and standardize document creation. This would include WordPerfect/Word templates for forms and labels, and Visual Basic for Applications macros for Office. The goal is to simplify the authoring and sharing of documents, and in some cases to provide a corporate “look” to documetns sent outside the company.
4. Public Marketing Documents
If time permits, assist marketing in the creation of public documents (application notes, newsletters and spec sheets).
WEB MASTER
1. Web site planning, authoring and updating
Work with marketing, engineering and possibly web site designer to plan what information and what format we should have on our web site.
Update Web site files as required.
Assist in Web Site document creation. This may involve authoring, or supervision of authoring, documents and data files.
INTERACTION with OTHERS
1. Management of specifically-assigned department functions.
2. Interaction with other departments and individuals within Kaveri group of companies.
3. Interacting with venodrs, serivce providers based on requirement for effective IT support.
